BIOGRAPHY – BIPASHA BASU

BIPASHA BASU was born on 5^th May 1979 in New Delhi, India. Her name content ritual meaning as “Deep Dark Desire”. Bipasha Basu has three sisters in her family (including her). She ranks second in the race of daughters and has one elder as well as one younger sister in her family. She is also nick named as ‘Bonny’ and ‘Bips’ by her family and close friends. Bipasha was Intelligent and Hard working and admitted in Science Stream till Higher Secondary Education.

As her family moved to Kolkata, West Bengal; Bipasha then took interest in Chartered Accountancy through Commerce. She believes that Acting was just by luck or we can say it was in fluke. It started when she was just 17 years old and got her first chance to participate in the Godrej Super Model Contest and luckily she won the contest. She thanks to Mehr Jessia, one of the Famous Model in India that changed her life forever. She recognized Bipasha’s talent and turned her into Glamorous World of Modelling.

Bipasha has a good knowledge of Business Studies. She is currently engaged to John Abraham, an Actor as well as a former Super-Model. Before she was engaged to John Abraham, Bipasha had dated Actor Dino Morea and also being linked with Super Star Abhishek Bachchan. In her Modelling Career, she had had been declared winner in many contest like; Ford Super –Model of the World Contest, Tulips Miss Vivacious Contest etc. She made an entry in Bollywood Industry first with Music Videos Albums like ‘Tu Kab Ye Janegi’ and ‘Kismat’ sung by Sonu Nigham, a popular singer then in Jay Sean’s ‘Stolen’.

It is a gradually said that Modeler's make an easy step into Film Industry. And its true as Bipasha had a successful career during her Modelling. She felt that acting and working in this Entertainment Industry is not an big agenda for her. She debuted with ‘Ajnabee’ in 2001 that was a fair hit film for her, but very soon she signed for her films produce by Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Raaz’ and ‘Jism’. This film attracted lot of attention with her role and she finally received good reviews at the Box-office. Jism was a bold, content more sex and bare skin which was first customary in Bollywood Industry.

Bipasha was later marked out as a Sex Symbol. She gave out a marvellous performance in Boney Kapoor’s ‘No Entry’ in 2005. She had also accused the organizers of the India Day Parade in Edison, New Jersey for physically and verbally molesting her. Bipasha had won Filmafare Awards for all her hard work and Acting talent in the category of Filmfare Best Debut Award – Female for ‘Ajnabee’ in 2001, Filmfare Best Actress Award for ‘Raaz’ in 2002 and Filmfare Best Villain Award for ‘Jism’ in 2003.
